The Story of Worlda teacher- Matt

After completing a B.A. in law and philosophy in my hometown of Durban I decided that some time away from home for a bit of adventure was in order. I had heard of people teaching English in Asia, but wasn’t sure which country I wanted to work in. After a bit of research I realised that China is the place to be, and as Guangzhou is famous for good food it really was a no brainer.

I got in touch with Worlda and was impressed by how much of a pleasure it was to communicate with them. They had honest answers to all of my questions during the interview, they are friendly, and I found their email responses to be timely and efficient. After I was satisfied with the contract they offered me, I signed up.
The work visa process was a breeze. Everything was explained to me step by step and I was never in any doubt as to what to do or what would happen. At last the time came to leave South Africa, the best idea I’ve ever had.

When I arrived in China I was immediately impressed by the modernity of Guangzhou. The streets are alive with shops and restaurants, the public transport will take you anywhere you want to go, it is cheap and easy to use. Guangzhou is also very safe, the people are friendly and will try their best to help you cross the language barrier. This is a first class city with first class people.

Worlda placed me in a wonderful school very close to where my apartment is. I have great relationships with both the staff and students. I teach grade 3, 4, and 5. The students in my classes are enthusiastic and well behaved. Lots of them already have a fair grasp of the English language. If there is ever a problem in class with behaviour or translation, my Chinese teaching assistant swiftly sorts that out.

I am having the most amazing time in Guangzhou, China. I would highly recommend coming here. If you do decide to come, do not hesitate to contact Worlda. They are friendly, professional, and are here to help.---Matt
